Ecology of Fire (2024) consists of a small screen displaying a looping image of a bonfire, powered by a solar panel. This compact system stages a cycle of energy capture, conversion, and display, foregrounding the infrastructures behind even the most minimal technological image. By linking solar energy to a digital fire, the work traces a trajectory from early human encounters with combustion to highly mediated forms of energy control. The bonfire—one of the earliest technologies—reappears as a computational image, produced through photovoltaic cells, silicon-based processors, and mineral circuitry.

Volkan Dinçer (b.1997, TR) is a media artist, uses multidisciplinary practices in his productions. He studies at Kunst Universitat Linz Department of Interface Cultures and Sculptural Conceptions & Ceramic. He lives and continues his artistic production and research in Linz, Austria. His works focus on inter-system relations and ecological problems within a research field that spans a wide range from perception tendencies to cultural materialism. Following these his master research is on understanding the organization ways of organisms through cybernetics and information theories. His works has been exhibited internationally including Ars Electronica, Linz(AT)2025, Cairotronica, Cairo(EG)2025, Pixelpoint, Nova Gorica(SI)2023, Wallraf-Richartz-Museum and Museum Ludwig ,Cologne, Main Station(DE)2021, Contemporary Istanbul(TR)2021
