Space & Time in moving images
Berhan Mete Arkin
This interactive video mapping installation reinterprets Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken through a personal experience of migration and belonging.
Inspired by the moment of waiting at an airport where European Union citizens and non-European travelers are separated into different lines. The work reflects on invisible borders, unequal mobility, and chosen paths. Two visual frames represent these parallel yet unequal journeys within the same space. By connecting a literary metaphor to lived experience, the project questions what it means to take “the road less traveled” in a world shaped by identity, nationality, and systemic boundaries.
