(Presentation will be in Slovene language with English translation)
Presentation of Expressive Movement for Well-Being project is an example of good practice in connecting culture and health. The project is aimed at working-age adults, a group often overlooked by preventive health programmes. Through a series of expressive dance workshops and shared visits to cultural events, participants explore movement, express emotions and build resilience for coping with everyday stress.
Workshops are not aimed at producing a final performance. The focus is instead on self-regulation, body acceptance, body awareness and co-creating a safe group space in which emotional and social skills are strengthened. The presentation briefly outlines the programme’s design, the course of the workshops and the first experiences of participants and facilitators. It also shows how the model can be transferred to cultural centres, healthcare institutions, workplaces and local communities.
The project is run by Delavski dom Trbovlje and is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.
