Citizen science
Citizen science is based on a simple idea: we can all participate in exploring the world around us. We observe nature, collect data, document changes in the environment, research local history, or help find answers to questions that are important to the community. In this way, we open up science to make it more open, accessible, and connected to everyday life.
The Citizen Science Network connects people interested in research and collaboration. It involves researchers, libraries, museums, associations, schools, local communities, and many individuals from all over Slovenia. Today, the network brings together more than 80 partners and more than 100 projects from various fields – from nature and the environment to culture, health, heritage, and new technologies. We organize events, workshops, exhibitions, and meetings, and we manage the citizenscience.si portal, where anyone can discover projects they can participate in.
We believe that the best ideas can arise when all people combine their knowledge, experience, and curiosity. Together, we explore, discover, and co-create knowledge for a better future.
