Opportunities at the Intersection: between Transition and the New European Bauhaus, the case of tourism

The event begins with a short lecture by Neja Petek, founder of the agency for development and communication in cultural tourism, Nea Culpa. She will present the synergies and collaborations between tourism, culture and creativity in the Slovenian and international space.

Next, Zdravko Kozinc, the co-founder of Iskriva Institute, will talk about creating new value in tourism, based on cross-sectoral integration with positive effects on the local community and economy.

This will be followed by a moderated discussion based on three starting points:

  • art and interventions in nature through the creation of thematic trails,
  • pop-up artistic interventions in industrial heritage sites with a biennial concept,
  • the inclusion of contemporary art in museum spaces with regularly changing exhibitions.

The event will also feature the presentation of 2 pilot producs in tourism that will be created during the process of preparing the Tourism Development Strategy.

This reflection is part of a broader process of preparing the Tourism Development Strategy in Zasavje until 2035, led by the agency Nea Culpa in collaboration with the GoodPlace institute, with the support of all four Zasavje municipalities and the Regional Development Agency Zasavje. The purpose of the Zasavje is! process is to create new value that connects social, economic, cultural, natural and tourism potential of the region.
